Remember the first day we get into Foon's class, the one important thing she gave us was the "Bible" the Bible she called is a book of guides and reference to illustration, very interesting bible, and i've got 2 version ;) (remember i did semester 4 twice? ^^), it's slightly different if you're wondering.....

As for John Lowe's, he also got a bible ^^ no pictures, no illustrations, just quotes. Put it on your wall, read them before you wash your face every morning, he says. John is a wise old man XD, (photo:the one in the middle) Old in age, but not elses, heard he climbing Himalaya lately. his teaching style similiar to Patricia, but few levels higher.
He carries a glass of "wine" when he needs to do a lot of talking in the studio or hall, well I never figure out was it wine or just rebenna, some says he turn water into wine ^^ . He peeps for who's working in the studio all the time, he joins us for "bin" paper throwing....he taught us a lot, thanks John, you're the legend~
Here's some recommended quotes
"However much we would like graphic design and advertising to be a science - because life would be simpler that way - the fact is that it is not. It is a subtle, ever changing art, defying formularization, flowering on freshness and witthering on imitation; what was effective one day, for that very reason, will not be effective the next, because it has lost the maximum impact of originality," - Bill Bernback
"The truth isn't the truth until people believe you, and they can't believe you if they don't know what you are saying, and they can't know what you're saying if they don't listen to you, and they won't listen to you if you're not interesting, and you won't be interesting unless you say things immaginatively, originally, freshly." - Bill Bernback
"In order to get a great idea, which is usually about 500th one to come along, you'll need to resist the temptation to give in to the anxiety and sign off on the first possible (good) idea that comes along. The best way to a great is to get a lot of ideas, at first ideas seem as hard as crumbs on an oriental carpet, when they do start to come, don't stop cover a wall, don't let good get in the way of great"
"Develope the idea there may be oil under that patch of land"
"Working on one thing at a time is like facing a rhinocerous, working on 4 or more is like playing badminton" - Milton Glaser
"Once you have learned how to do it, break every rule, every guidline. In 1759 Dr Samuel Johnson wrote 'The trade of advertising is now so near to perfection that it is not easy to propose any improvements.' Break the rules, find something new."
